Wooden Flag Proposition

As Jonas says getting flags made professionally is expensive so how about making D.I.Y. flags from wood? In mind I had the concept of just the shield raised aloft by a pole in the centre. We could make our own official model but also citizens around the world could just make theirs with whatever wood they can find which is suitable. We’d like to appeal to the poorer parts of the world so it would be possible for them to find scrap wood and hopefully some form of paint by which to paint the Havenheed shield on. In the future we could progress to having regular flags but I don’t think that means we would have to discard the wooden flag as I think they would look impressive side by side.

I think the flag would look more like a small/mini banner than a flag with a pole in the centre rather than on the side, but would still look good. I think a flag made from wood would make a statement as it would be strong and unyielding in the wind and the entire image would be much more visible than a fabric flag in the wind. And of course fabric flags are even less visible when there is no wind at all.
