Havenheed

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be vegan to join the Havenheed network?

No, the vegan ideals are at heart in what we do here, but we are also interested in the broad palette of self-sufficiency: growing your own food, creating your own energy, building your own products a.s.o, so anyone into those kinds of things are more than welcome. You are, however, not allowed to promote ideas regarding cruelties of any kind, not to humans nor other animals.

So, what is Havenheed about?

It is, put shortly, about creating a better world through the emerging self-sufficiency technologies. We believe this will happen anyway; people will start to take control of their own lives, and through new machinery, new growing techniques and new educational methods everyone will be able to utilize what was previously scattered knowledge (the carpenter had certain information, the farmer other and the politician other still e.g.), but we feel we need a strategy for making this a reality in a sensible, ethical and friendly manner, alongside a promotion of the techniques themselves, that is why Havenheed exists.

Who is it for?

It is for everyone not believing in traditional work anymore, not interested in paying taxes to keep an ineffective and power hungry government satisfied, not inclined to follow for the sake of following; rather the Havenite (citizen of the 'nation' of Havenheed) believes in self development, morals, kindness and strength in the individual, yet believes in the collective as a growing ground for new ideas, for help and for education.
