Jonas Hellö replied to James's discussion Vegfest in the group Havenheed Music Festival Group, DB/MCE
"And it doesn't have to be others' vegan events, it's enough that it's something where a lot of people gather, like any music festival, or even at the town square or a shopping mall, with proper permits. I'll put up a blog…"

Jonas Hellö replied to James's discussion Vegfest in the group Havenheed Music Festival Group, DB/MCE
"I think we must try and engage in these kinds of events in order to gain in citizenship numbers. It would be enough just to put up a table at such a festival, with our flag and a few pamphlets. It would only take two people to stand there for a…"

Jonas Hellö replied to James's discussion The debate on "Organics" and "Hydroponics" in the group Havenheed Food Growing Group, DSS/MTA
"I'm not entirely sure of the origin of the "refined mineral salt" used in organic hydroponics - are they from mined minerals originally? It think, and hope, it might be possible to use human and plant waste, by pressing and/or…"

Development Department replied to James's discussion The debate on "Organics" and "Hydroponics" in the group Havenheed Food Growing Group, DSS/MTA
"I'm certainly pro-hydroponics. With pesticides and suchlike being sprayed indiscriminately all over the place maybe indoor plant farming will ironically become the only true form of organic. The vertical farm seems an interesting…"

James replied to Jonas Hellö's discussion Guns and more in the group Havenheed Law Investigation Group, DB/ML
"IMHO = In my humble opinion I think toy weapons should be allowed, they can be frowned upon but being illegal is a step too far IMHO. I do love a good game of GTA, too much censorship is a bad thing. Case by case would be fine I think."

James replied to Jonas Hellö's discussion Guns and more in the group Havenheed Law Investigation Group, DB/ML
"How about just no to anything designed to kill or injure? A bread knife could be considered a weapon but it's designed to cut bread. A gun however is designed to harm as is a sword. If a practical use can be shown to be an items main purpose…"

The debate on "Organics" and "Hydroponics"

There is a huge popular debate about the value of "organic"fertilizers and methods, many people would like to apply"organics" to hydroponics. Currently accepted organic fertilizercomponents are dependent upon organisms in the soil to convertthe "organic" materials into a useable form for plants. In hydroponics we provide the minerals required for plant growthdirectly, completely eliminating the need for soil and soilorganisms. The result is much higher growth rates, yields and evencrop quality…See More

Vegfest

It's not entirely a music festival, but I think it's about as close as it gets at the moment.http://www.vegfest.co.uk/Previously known as both the Bristol/Brighton Vegan Fayre and Bristol/Brighton Eco Veggie Fayre. Everything sold must be suitable for vegans and is closely monitored to ensure compliance from stall owners. They've had some good bands on in the past, my favourite being The King Blues.See More

James replied to Jonas Hellö's discussion A growing grow-in business..?
"I think demand is the problem, if you try and reduce production then other suppliers would just fill the gap and it would make their businesses even more profitable."

James replied to Jonas Hellö's discussion A growing grow-in business..?
"Green manure would be a much better option than giving money to people that profit from the use and abuse of animals. Personally I don't actually agree that it's a good idea for people to purchase rescue chickens and the like since…"
