Caire Fox Hunting! The National Sport of Havenheed!
Claire Fox Hunting is the national sport of Havenheed. It is a non-seasonal sport done all year round. Some human rights extremists have called for a ban on the sport but Havenheed Government Scientists insist that Claire Fox is not human.

The sport is done in honour of the Havenheed patron saint John Peel. There is even a Havenheed folk tune which celebrates the cultural pursuit:
D'ye ken John Peel on his mighty sleigh?
Towed by deer unto the…

Vegan invasion of Israel
Recently there has been a lot of positive news coming out of Israel regarding veganism. There has been a lot of people watching the Gary Yourofsky speech, a global reaction to the 269 demonstration and most recently Israel's biggest meat and dairy company Tnuva, has been subject to criminal investigations regarding its abuse of animals.
Israel is a small country of under 8 million people, and yet it has a virtually unrivalled world audience for its political developments. It's…

Too short for a blog post, really, but too long for the "what's up today, citizen" front page thought of the day: Where I currently reside (Segmon, Värmland, Sweden) there are so many empty houses right now. It's at the end of nowhere, so I can understand it, though, but it would be the greatest thing ever if some vegans decided to move here. The houses are dirt cheap - around 10,000-40,000 Euros each (I bought mine for like 35,000 Euros) and the neighbourhood is nice and quiet, even though…

Havenheed Facebook Page
We now have a Facebook page under the name of Havenheed Republic. Please view it here and like it and do whatever else it is people do to pages on Facebook. It seems a bit weird the liking thing has become so important but apparently you can't view your own statistics until you get liked 30 times.
I'm still a bit of a novice dealing with Facebook. To be honest I preferred myspace before it tried to…

Veganism and the rise of the Muslim Consumer
The other night I listened to a program on BBC Radio 4 UK which was entitled "The Future Is Halal". People associate the word halal with meat. Usually it is just thought of as a term that defines how animals have been slaughtered in accordance to Islamic law . However halal actually means something a lot broader. According to Wikipedia :…

Towards Judgement day, let the judgement begin
In respect of the hijacking judgement day concept posted in the adult education group soon the judgement will begin.
The basic idea is that for so long humanity has spoken of a judgement day and the best date we have that could fit that concept is the 21st of December 2012. Unless you've really managed to cut yourself off from all media then you will…

Vegan Consensus Days - VCD
Sounds more boring than I hope it could be, and the name is likely to change. Basically I want to organize a vegan festival, albeit that there will probably not be hundreds of bands playing, but also just a simple party, bbq, and dancing, perhaps raving, combined with conferenses and discussions on the topic of veganism.
There is already a consensus on veganism among most of us, even though we might differ in details (is it ok to kill insects; to buy second hand leather; to…
