Comment by Development Department on January 19, 2012 at 23:13 I'd like there to be a peaceful solution and ideally I'd like to see self-sustaining amphibious R.V.R.V.s (Raw Vegan Recreational Vehicles) become widely used across the world. (It would be nice to tour the Philippine islands in one.) We really need to get the idea of a high tech nomadic lifestyle broadly endorsed. I've set up a petition for a TV show about it here to hopefully get the idea more widely accepted.

Comment by Development Department on January 19, 2012 at 22:49 Sorry to hear about that Mike but I don't believe flags and money inherently cause suffering; it just depends who's in charge of them. Money is a good way of speeding up transactions as opposed to alternatives like bartering. Transactions are carried out by evil people but then they are also carried out by good people. As far as flags are concerned it is good to have a shared identity for the sake of protection. Zebras for example have a shared identity which helps to protect them from predators as there is safety in numbers.
As you have said we are all at risk from attack from the same cruel people. I may have suggested more diplomatic approaches on this site before but on the other hand if I was a Brazilian crop farmer having my land invaded by American cattle ranchers then I don't see how using violence against such people would not be acceptable if it's the only way to protect yourself and your livelihood. Cattle Ranchers are well on their way to destroying the planet as we know it more extreme actions need to be taken against them soon.

Comment by Michael Evans on January 15, 2012 at 10:15 Dear Al, I have been in contact with two friends in the Philippines for two years and keep them supplied with rice and other things but i have not been there. We built one traditional palm tree house on the beach for only about £3,000 (Sterling) which does not require planning consent or building regulations and have another three plots beside for more houses the same, along with a rice field. The first harvest produced £800 worth of rice for £100 of siblings which is a good return. There are two islands nearby i am interested in which are used for growing coconuts and that could give an income by selling them in the Surigao City to pay household bills like water, electricity etc. Medical treatment must be paid for in advance which means most put up with the pain or die so again we need an income to pay for that as well as train the girls to learn nursing to help each other. But whether it is abroad or anywhere else it is clear that gentle and kind people are suffering while the cruel prosper just like they always have. It looks like forming such a group in the U.K is going to be hard maybe because people are apprehensive about making a change and everybody can claim benefits so there is not the urgency like those abroad who are starving but i believe they are taking a serious risk being alone, one can see how many murders there are every day, violence is fashionable. There are so many other examples, too many to give here about how cruel most others are, like making a phone call to be met with an automated 'service' to cause maximum stress, being short of money and forced to work with cruel people in Tesco or similar just to survive, what kind of life is that? Getting children out of a warm bed on a frosty morning to be bullied at school just to be part of a cruel system. My dream is to end up somewhere in the country with kind friends where nobody goes to work and everybody is happy and free, that could be in the UK or maybe in the Philippines, it does not matter but the Philippines is where the suffering is, the weather and people are nicer and land is cheap. It may also be that those friends are more likely to be women rather than men who appear to be more cruel. My information is that it could be possible to have our own village in the Philippines full of gentle and kind people well worth helping having as little to do with what most see as a normal life in the outside world, all that i have to do now is rob a few banks to pay for it all, Mike.
