I did this car boot yesterday selling second hand stuff and it went well. This is a very convenient market to do and I should be able to get other local people involved. Hopefully we can expand to set up a range of Havenheed stalls selling cheap ethical products. As stated previously my initial intention is to sell shea butter. My plan is to sell small samples but give a lot of information about the product including where to buy it cheaply and how else to protect the skin.
A lot of open air markets are opening up in and around Bristol at the moment. I feel this will be an important summer which may greatly change the nature of retail in the U.K., certainly in the south west of it but possibly also across a large amount of Europe.
I think here we may have an opportunity to realise a lot of the ideas we have/had for Havenheed including the media outlets. With a regular stall we would have an activity to film and broadcast via our ustream channel.
I have a preference for this market over the Harbourside one I previously talked about as it is cheaper and gives us an opportunity to connect with the less well off. The pharmaceutical industries heavily exploit the poorer ends of society and so that is where we really need to be.
Please do remember to tell anyone you can about the magic of shea butter because if we can make this product replace all regular skin treatment products then it would be a major reduction in dependence on the pharmaceutical industry.
